Phishing Defense Expert and Board Member for the National Cybersecurity Society Will Present Two Sessions

LEESBURG, VA. – February 22, 2019 – Today Cofense™, the leading provider of intelligent phishing defense solutions world-wide, announced that the company’s first Security Solutions Advisor, Tonia Dudley, will speak at the 2019 RSA Conference. Set to present two sessions, a Learning Lab on March 6 in a traditional Classroom setting, Dudley will discuss the need to develop long term strategies for phishing simulation campaigns and the value of a human touch in security. A second session on March 7, with a focus on automation vs human intuition. With more than a decade of cybersecurity experience, Tonia has managed cybersecurity incident response, security awareness programs, and IT compliance programs for large scale global organizations.

Over 90 percent of data breaches happening today occur as a result of a phishing attack. While organizations continue to implement technical controls, practitioners must understand the current culture of evolving threats and tactics for attack, and improve the cyber-behavior of their people. Dudley’s first speaking session is a co-presentation at 2pm PT on March 6, Creating/Building a Phishing Training Program, and will focus on how companies can respond to these evolving industry threats, solidify and retain support for their phishing simulation programs, and gain meaningful metrics (space is limited for this session – sign up is required).

Dudley’s second presentation, Automation vs. Human Eyes: Optimizing Human Intuition for Success at 2:50pm PT on March 7, is designed to address attendees in charge of running Security Operations Center (SOC) teams or building automation into their processes. The timely question Tonia poses for this session is, “Would you automatically block a link to SharePoint found in a phishing email directing your users to log in to download a document? Then why let automation make your critical incident response decisions for you?” Highly skilled SOC analysts need to know what to do – this session will look at why it’s better to let analysts offer the full range of their human skill and intel. Attendees will also learn ways to integrate additional steps to reduce noise in SOC automation.

“It is an honor to be selected to speak at the RSA Conference. I am extremely proud to represent Cofense while bringing insight and resources to event attendees who are eager to learn from my experience and improve their phishing defenses,” said Dudley. “I aim to share my passion for building and improving security awareness and incident response programs across all major industries with as many people as I can, in hopes that together we can better protect against phishing attacks.”

In her role at Cofense, Dudley focuses on phishing defense advocacy while demonstrating how Cofense solutions help organizations across the globe minimize the impact of attacks while reducing the cost of operations. Dudley also advises Cofense product teams on specific customer and market-driven needs to help streamline product roadmaps and create Cofense’s inaugural international customer advisory board. She also holds a seat on the National Cybersecurity Society board, with a focus on providing the small business community with resources to improve online safety and security.

In addition to Dudley’s presentations, RSA Conference attendees can learn more about Cofense by visiting the team in either the South Expo hall at booth #1243, or the North Expo hall at booth #4436. For more information, please visit https://cofense.com/.
