2018 Cofense Excellence Awards
The Cofense Excellence Awards showcase the outstanding achievements of security professionals to defend their companies against the damages of phishing. The companies and individuals recognized by the Cofense Excellence awards are industry leaders, chosen for their innovative, successful programs to combat phishing attacks and protect their enterprise from the risks of malware infiltration and fraud loss.

Cofense Excellence Awards recognize program excellence in four categories:
- Phishing Defense Program of the Year: The most effective all-around, top performing, defensive phishing program across a comprehensive list of components including detection, alerting, reporting, employee training, employee participation, and results.
- Incident Response Team of the Year: The top incident response team based on either of the following:
- Single Incident: scope of the incident, potential for damage, response strategy and cost/time saving value of the resolution; or
- Overall Process: the incident response team with the best ongoing process, system of detecting and deflecting the incident and minimizing the overall impact of phishing in the organization on an ongoing basis.
- Most Innovative Phishing Defense Program: The most innovative phishing program implementation across an organization which could include contests, gamification, incentives, and other fresh approaches to improve training effectiveness and boost participation throughout the company.

Call for Speakers
Can I submit more than one topic?
A speaker may submit more than one proposal but each proposal must be submitted individually by May 10.
If I'm selected to speak, what is the deadline to accept?
Selected speakers must accept their invitation to speak by June 20.
What is the Cofense Submerge registration fee for speakers and what does it include?
Registration for speakers is complimentary (estimated value $500), and includes entry to all sessions and keynotes along with continental breakfast, lunch and receptions.
Will speakers needed to sign a release form?
All speakers will need to sign a release form as part of their acceptance. Accepted speakers will be sent a form to complete.
What is the length of a session?
Each session will be 40 minutes long with 10-15 minutes of question time. Cofense will provide a PowerPoint template for you to use. If your submission is accepted, we will inform you of the presentation format for your presentation.
What A/V is provided for presentations?
A/V set up will include: Podium, Screens, LCD Projector, Laptop, Microphone(s), Hardwire Internet Connection, Wireless Mouse, Confidence Monitor.

Do I need to attend every session?
SUBMERGE 2018 was designed to give you, the user, the most value possible within the timeframe allotted for the conference. If you feel that you need to miss a session for any particular reason, please feel free, but we encourage you to make use of the beneficial information scheduled during the conference.
Are meals provided at Submerge?
All conference attendees will be provided with the following meals:
- Monday: breakfast, lunch, snack breaks and dinner
- Tuesday: breakfast, lunch, snack breaks and dinner
- Wednesday: breakfast, lunch, and snack breaks
Will there be internet access during the conference?

What if I’m coming earlier or staying beyond the dates of the conference?
The room block is available pre conference based on hotel availability. If you would like to come earlier or stay later than the conference, please make your own arrangements. Bring official identification.

Cofense is reserving a block of rooms for the estimated number of attendees. If you wish to share a room with another attendee, please make these arrangements at your discretion.

What is the suggested attire at Submerge 2018?
Cofense encourages a casual dress code, so wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You may want to bring an extra layer as session rooms can sometimes get a bit chilly.
