PhishMe Elevates Jim Hansen Into Chief Operating Officer Position; Company Veteran and Mandiant Co-Founder Chosen to Lead Operations During Period of Hyper Growth
Leadership Move Readies Company to Meet Accelerated Demand for Phishing Defense Solutions
LEESBURG, Va. – November 16, 2015 – PhishMe® Inc., the pioneers in building human phishing defense solutions, today announced it has appointed security industry veteran Jim Hansen as Chief Operating Officer. Hansen, previously PhishMe’s Executive VP of Sales, brings to the leadership team more than 25 years of experience leading operations, sales and revenue development in cybersecurity companies. In his new role, Hansen will continue to drive PhishMe’s growth as it dominates the market through increased customer deployments and its recent acquisition of leading phishing and threat intelligence provider Malcovery.
“PhishMe has established itself as a leader in conditioning employees of organizations ranging from SMBs to the Fortune 100 to identify, report and assist their security teams in shutting down phishing attacks,” said Hansen. “As our offerings and our global footprint continue to grow, I’m excited to play a larger role in the company’s growth and continue to leverage my past experiences to support PhishMe’s aggressive customer acquisition and revenue goals.”
Prior to joining PhishMe, Hansen co-founded and served as COO of information security provider Mandiant, later acquired by FireEye, which focused on incident response and computer forensics. While at Mandiant, he drove corporate strategy, initial revenue development and delivery, and built the sales program.
Hansen was previously the Deputy Director of Computer Crime Investigations for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations where he provided oversight and onsite investigation into the penetration of the Department of Defense’s systems around the globe. He appeared as an expert witness in both the U.S. and the U.K. on highly publicized cases, and his security field experience includes numerous undercover operations in specialized ops as a part of the national surveillance team. Hansen’s federal background will continue to play a critical role as PhishMe works with organizations to prepare their employees to detect and defend against phishing attacks, a primary cyberwar attack vector.
“During this unprecedented period of growth, we need proven leaders who will continue to drive our momentum,” said Rohyt Belani, CEO and co-founder of PhishMe. “Jim’s background as a federal agent, co-founder of one of the most successful security startups in recent history and success as a PhishMe executive makes him uniquely qualified to lead overall operations as we continue to dominate the market.”
