Cofense Wins 2022 Cybersecurity Breakthrough Award for Overall Enterprise Email Security Solution of the Year

Company recognized as leader in email security solution marketplace

Leesburg, Va – Oct. 6, 2022Cofense®, the leading provider of phishing detection and response (PDR) solutions, was named the Overall Enterprise Email Security Solution of the Year by the 2022 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards. This is the second consecutive year that Cofense has been named a CyberSecurity Breakthrough award-winner as the company was named the AI-Based Cybersecurity Solution of the Year in 2021. Judged by an independent panel of experts, this award program recognizes the top companies, innovations and people in the cybersecurity industry that are breaking through the information security noise.

“Cofense has been solely dedicated to email security for over a decade, giving us unique insights into this threat landscape and allowing us to build a comprehensive email security solution for enterprises around the world,” said Rohyt Belani, CEO and Co-Founder of Cofense. “By leveraging crowdsourced human intelligence from our global network, we are enabling organizations to automatically remove attacks first reported by any one of 35 million employees of other Cofense customers. Furthermore, our artificial intelligence enabled technology blocks zero-day threats. This unique combination of crowdsourced intelligence, advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning allows us to provide our customers with an email security system that thwarts credential theft, BEC, and costly ransomware attacks, often missed by secure email gateways. Cofense is proud to be a leading innovator in the email security space.”

According to Cofense’s 2022 Annual State of Phishing Report, Cofense observed nearly 100 unique malware families in 2021, representing the complicated landscape of distinct threats organizations need to keep up with. Cofense enables organizations to identify, detect and respond to email attacks evading traditional email security controls with a comprehensive solution powered by a combination of unique intelligence sources: human intelligence, artificial intelligence and email attack intelligence. Each of these sources, deployed through various products in the Cofense Phishing Detection and Response (PDR) Platform, provides a critical view into active phishing campaigns.

Every day, thousands of novel attacks are launched via email against organizations of all sizes. These attacks bypass perimeter security technology and land in unsuspecting employee inboxes, potentially causing millions of dollars in damages as threat actors trick unsuspecting employees into activating these payloads or handing over their credentials. This award reinforces the market need for Cofense Validator, Cofense’s latest innovation launched in early 2022, designed to empower organizations to independently understand the effectiveness of their secure email gateways (SEGs) by testing them with active, live phishing threats.

On Oct. 19 at 1pmET, Cofense will host a Cyber Security Awareness Month webinar, “#BeCyberSmart: Best Practices to Recognize & Report Phishing”.
